This past week I studied color theory through Acrylic University’s Color Mastery Bootcamp with Dianna Shyne and Jed Dorsey.
First, I set up a palette using Masterson Sta-Wet Premier Pallet. To help conserve costs of palette paper, I use dampened baking parchment paper.
I set up my limited color palette using the following colors: titanium white, cadmium medium yellow, quinacridone red, quinacridone magenta, ultramarine blue, pthalo blue, and indanthrene blue.
I studied my color wheel.
And painted the following study: Four Color Schemes.
Clockwise from upper left:
1. Complementary (blue-violet, yellow-orange)
2. Analogous (green, blue-green, blue-violet)
3. Triadic (violet, green, orange)
4. Split-Complementary (red, blue-green, yellow-green)
