A year ago I painted this little painting and sent copies to Joe, Kamala, Gavin and other politicians and requested that Juneteenth become a National Holiday to commemorate the emancipation of African Americans who had been enslaved. One year later and Juneteenth is now a National Holiday! Happy Juneteenth!
