Who remembers the TV show The Twilight Zone?

For many years I have spent hours a day using my gardens as a canvas. I love blending textures and colors. I love planting bulbs, starting seeds, propagating from cuttings, and I even love pulling weeds.

Watercolor on Lanaquarelle
This is a portrait of my husband Greg. I used the materials with the exception of the paper in the Sketchbox Watercolor Portaiture Special Edition Box and watched a lesson with portraiture artist Joanna Barnum of Maryland.

First, I made a swatch of the colors in the kit.
Using a photo as a reference, I sketched out the drawing.

Added several more layers for the shading and the background until I felt that it was finished.
I am really happy with this painting!
